Upon landing back in Baltimore last Monday night following our trip to St. Petersburg, we were welcomed to our area’s first decent snowstorm in about two years. Driving home the 12 or so miles was not fun to say the least, and I did not want to be out any longer than I needed or wanted to be. 

That same storm battered most of the East Coast that night, and I could only image how intensely horrific the drive must have been for a couple in Sparta, N.J., as a man named Tyler tried to get his partner Stephanie to the hospital so she could give birth. The worsening weather conditions, combined with the laboring woman sitting in the car, probably had this man’s blood pressure beeping off the charts. To top it all off in the most extreme fashion … they didn’t make it to the hospital, and Stephanie had to give birth on the side of the road with help from the local police. Now that’s a “the night you were a born” story for the future if I ever heard one. 

Mom and baby Millie were transported to a nearby medical center and are said to be happy and healthy. Hopefully from now on snow brings happy memories and not tense ones.
