The NFL conference championships are this weekend, and it is hard to imagine that just three games remain in this season. Every season feels like it takes so long to get here, but when it does, it seems like it is over before you know it.
The AFC will be first up on Sunday at 3 p.m. ET as the Kansas City Chiefs travel to Baltimore to take on the Ravens. Most sportsbooks have the Ravens as only a 3.5-point favorite despite being at home (betting odds automatically give 3 points to the home team), which basically suggests the teams would be even on a neutral field. I do not buy that at all and feel like this is the year the Chiefs finally get handed a lopsided loss. Give me the Ravens by at least 10 points.
Meanwhile, the San Francisco 49ers are 7-point favorites at home against the Detroit Lions. This game feels a lot closer, in my opinion, and I could easily see the Lions covering this spread. As for who wins, I guess while you have to say the 49ers are the “better team,” the Lions have been on a roll lately and aren’t scared of anyone at this point. As much as it pains me, I’ll take San Fran to win but Detroit to cover. That said, it would not surprise me in the slightest of the Lions won.
The worst part about living near Baltimore at this time of year: It’s impossible to get wings on Sunday.
