Here are some of the stories RTO Insider plans on having for you next week: 


Jon Lamson will have a piece on the NEPOOL Markets Committee as it works on resource capacity accreditation and structural capacity market revisions. 


John Norris will have the details from the NYISO Interconnection Issues Task Force, which will discuss its Order 2023 compliance proposal. John will also check in on the ISO’s ICAP/MIWG/PRLWG, as well as the New York State Reliability Council Executive Council. 


Devin Leith-Yessian will have the scoop from three PJM committee meetings. The PC will hear a first read of the forecast pool requirement and installed reserve margin for the 2025/26 delivery year, while the MIC will consider the endorsement of revisions to Manual 11 to add language around real-time temporary exception values. Lastly, the OC will receive further updates about the performance of generators during January’s Winter Storm Gerri. 


Amanda Durish Cook will follow along with MISO’s subregional planning meetings. The RTO will hold its first round of meetings with stakeholders Monday through Thursday concerning the 2024 Transmission Expansion Plan. 


Tom Kleckner will be on top of the SPP Board of Directors, Members Committee and Regional State Committee quarterly meetings. The RTO’s board, stakeholders and state regulators will gather virtually Monday and Tuesday for updates. 


Ayla Burnett will report on a joint WEIM Governing Body and CAISO Board of Governors general session, where representatives from the two will give an update on EDAM onboarding and implementation, along with an update from the Department of Market Monitoring and the Market Surveillance Committee. 


Robert Mullin will cover a webinar hosted by the Western Power Trading Forum and Public Generating Pool to discuss a study examining the unique challenges that could be posed by the boundaries between CAISO’s Extended Day-Ahead Market and SPP’s Markets+. 


James Downing will tune into a pair of congressional hearings on the Biden administration’s pause on approvals of new LNG export facilities. The House Energy and Commerce Committee, along with the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee, will hold separate hearings on the issue. 


Holden Mann will have a story on the System Planning Impacts from Distributed Energy Resources Working Group meeting, where NERC staff will discuss developing reliability challenges involving DERs.
