Here are some of the stories RTO Insider plans on having for you next week: 


In ISO-NE, Jon Lamson will have the details from two NEPOOL committees. The Transmission Committee will discuss its Order 2023 compliance, while the Reliability Committee figures to talk more on resource capacity accreditation. 


John Norris will report on the NYISO Business Issues Committee, which will vote on the external ICAP rights for the 2024/2025 capability year, as well as provide updates on the peak load window for 2024/2025 capability year and the January Market Operations Report. John will also check in on the Operating Committee and the Interconnection Issues Task Force. 


Devin Leith-Yessian will dive into a PJM Planning Committee special session, where the PC will hold a page turn of the long-term regional transmission planning proposal, which would expand the planning horizon and add new layers of analysis. Also, the Reserve Certainty Senior Task Force is set to continue its work of identifying solution components to address its immediate needs key work activities, while the Deactivation Enhancements Senior Task Force will continue discussions of several packages proposed to revise the amount of advance notice generators must provide PJM of their intent to deactivate. 


Tom Kleckner will dish on the ERCOT Technical Advisory Committee, which will resume its discussion of a tabled rule change that would address reliability concerns with inverter-based resources. 


Robert Mullin will cover the West-Wide Governance Pathways Initiative’s monthly stakeholder meeting. 


James Downing will follow along with a House Energy and Commerce Subcommittee on Energy, Climate and Grid Security hearing on grid reliability. He, along with the rest of the RTO Insider team, will report on FERC’s open meeting. 


Holden Mann will have a story on the NERC Board of Trustees meeting. The board will elect new officers for 2024, discuss work plans for the ERO’s technical committees and discuss proposed rule changes concerning registration of inverter-based resources.
