Here are some of the stories RTO Insider plans on having for you next week:

John Norris will dive into the NYISO Installed Capacity/Market Issues/Price Response Load Working Groups’ meeting that will focus on observations of uneconomic production by the MMA, co-located storage resource model updates and dynamic reserves. John will also look into the Electric System Planning Working Group/Load Forecasting Task Force/Transmission Planning Advisory Subcommittee and their economic forecast and long-term forecast assumptions.

Devin Leith-Yessian will have a piece on the PJM Markets and Reliability Committee, which is set to consider revisions to Manual 18 to make several “short-term” changes to how energy-efficiency resources participate in the capacity market. There will also be a special Market Implementation Committee session on the role energy efficiency resources play in the RTO’s Reliability Pricing Model.

K Kaufmann will break down the Maryland Clean Energy Center 2024 Legislative Reception. As the Maryland General Assembly approaches the halfway point of its session, state officials and legislators talk about the bills and other initiatives they will be pushing for. K will also have the numbers from Exelon’s fourth-quarter earnings call.

Tom Kleckner will tune into SPP’s REAL Team as it holds its first in-person meeting of the year and continues to address the RTO’s stated top goal for 2024: resource adequacy issues.

Ayla Burnett will have a story on the CAISO Resource Adequacy Modeling and Design Working Group, where staff and stakeholders will continue their discussion on modifying the resource adequacy program. ISO staff will also give a presentation on the unforced capacity methodology.

Ayla will also attend the Floating Offshore Wind Port and Vessel Summit. The conference will feature a variety of panels discussing the development of West Coast offshore wind, including building a network of offshore wind ports, floating vessel needs and West Coast ship building.

Holden Mann will report on NERC’s Standards Committee, which will discuss the next steps for the ERO’s effort to address FERC’s order on internal network security monitoring, along with other ongoing standards development projects.

The details on all the meetings above can be found on our calendar
