Here are some of the stories RTO Insider plans on having for you next week: 


John Norris will tune into a NYSERDA informational webinar on retail energy storage, which will focus on utilizing unexpended program funding toward additional New York City retail energy incentives. John will also check in on the NYISO Interconnection Issues Task Force, as well as NRG Energy’s fourth-quarter earnings call. 


Devin Leith-Yessian will have a story on the PJM Risk Management Committee as it is set to continue discussions on the RTO’s review of the credit risk posed by bilateral capacity transactions. Meanwhile, the RTO’s Electric Gas Coordination Senior Task Force will review the results of a poll gauging the support for a joint proposal from PJM, Dominion Energy and Gabel Associates intended to improve alignment between the electric and gas markets. 


Amanda Durish Cook will have the details from the Entergy Regional State Committee, as MISO is set to respond to Entergy’s proposed cost allocation for long-range transmission projects. 


Tom Kleckner will report on ERCOT’s board and its subcommittees as they meet Monday and Tuesday in Austin. They will consider, among other items, the Texas PUC’s remand of a protocol change related to batteries’ state of charge that has met heavy opposition by the renewable sector. 


Ayla Burnett will have a piece on a meeting between ISO staff and stakeholders to discuss the CAISO 2024-2025 Transmission Planning Process. 


Robert Mullin will cover a California Energy Commission workshop exploring the results of a study on decommissioning natural gas infrastructure in parts of Northern California to help the state meet its decarbonization goals. 


K Kaufmann will follow along with the American Council on Renewable Energy Policy Forum. ACORE CEO Ray Long will lead off the agenda with sessions on optimizing and defending the IRA, building out U.S. supply chains, keeping prices down and building out the grid. Keynotes include Brenda Mallory, chair of the White House Council on Environmental Quality, and Liz Klein, director of the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management. 


James Downing will check in on NARUC’s Winter Meetings in D.C. Speakers will include FERC Chair Willie Phillips and Sen. Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.).
