One of the things most people dream about having is an expensive car. Maybe not so much that it is expensive, but that it looks, sounds and goes fast — which inherently makes it expensive. But would you spend tens of thousands of dollars on a luxury car … that you couldn’t even sit in? 

Model car maker Amalgam Collection specializes in creating 1:8 and 1:4 scale replicas of some of the world’s most iconic cars, for a price close to the same proportion. By maintaining close relationships with top manufacturers like Ferrari, Lamborghini and Aston Martin, Amalgam has access to the original computer-aided design data and engineering drawings of the vehicles they replicate, as well as paint codes and color samples. A quick browse of their collection shows models ranging from $1,000 to as much as $41,000! 

I am not sure I am keen on buying a fake car that costs more than your real car just for the sake of looking at it, but if I were to pick one, it would likely be the GT40.
