Here are some of the stories RTO Insider plans on having for you next week: 


Devin Leith-Yessian will dish on the PJM Reserve Certainty Senior Task Force, which will continue to work on improving the evaluation of reserve resource performance. Meanwhile, the Deactivation Enhancements Senior Task Force will consider the amount of advance notice generation owners must provide PJM prior to retiring resources and how the RTO enters into reliability-must-run contracts. 


Amanda Durish Cook will dive into a MISO Long Range Transmission Planning Workshop, where stakeholders will react to the RTO’s proffered $17 billion to $23 billion, mostly 765-kV portfolio for MISO Midwest under its second long-range transmission planning effort. 


Robert Mullin will write about CAISO’s review of its Winter Conditions Report covering the ISO's response to the January 2024 cold snap in the Northwest. 


John Norris will report on the NYISO Business Issues Committee, Operating Committee and Interconnection Issues Task Force. 


Ayla Burnett will have the details from the Offshore Wind Transmission West Conference, where the Global Transmission Report will discuss floating offshore wind development off the Pacific Coast. 


James Downing will have a piece on a World Resources Institute webinar on grid-enhancing technologies with FERC Commissioner Allison Clements and Connecticut PURA Chairman Marissa Gillett. 


Holden Mann will have a story on the NERC Reliability and Security Technical Committee meeting, where members will discuss standards projects as well as important reliability-related research. 


K Kaufmann will check in on a Securing America’s Future Energy (SAFE) Summit that will focus on critical mineral supply chains and zero-emission transportation. North Carolina Gov. Roy Cooper (D) and South Carolina Gov. Henry McMaster (R) will speak, as will Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm and Gabe Klein, executive director of the Joint Office of Energy and Transportation.
