Ironically, a lot happened the day we sent our last weekly NetZero Insider email. EPA released its final rule on vehicle emissions; BOEM proposed a second offshore wind energy auction in the Gulf of Mexico; and Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm appeared at CERAWeek to a cool audience. 

So, it was a busy Wednesday, but there was still plenty of news that followed. James Downing and Rich Heidorn Jr. teamed up to cover a DOE report that looked at the savings that would result from an interregional transmission network for the East Coast’s offshore wind. Offshore transmission is also the subject of a study that ISO-NE will conduct, Jon Lamson reports. 

James also covered DOE’s announcement of $6 billion in funding for 33 industrial decarbonization projects, as well as a report on how the U.S. can create a domestic solar manufacturing industry.
