Being satirical or parodying something isn’t just about trying to be a funny jerk. It takes skill. I mean, how easy do you think it is to come up with these emails every day?
Vermont State University obviously feels the same way, as it will begin offering a class dedicated to Weird Al Yankovic in the fall. The class is classified as a “music industry and business course” that will analyze what makes a good parody, how you pay tribute to another artist, strong lyricism and songs’ historical context. The class was inspired by Harvard offering a course on Taylor Swift. That is quite the difference in style and lyrical content, but maybe everything I know is wrong?
Now, there is no joking around when it comes to today’s RTO Insider news.
From everyone at RTO Insider, thanks for reading and enjoy the rest of your day!
