With our offshore wind beat reporter on vacation, our other avengers assembled to cover the big news of the week. BOEM approved Avangrid Renewables’ New England Wind project yesterday, while the agency approved Orsted and Eversource’s Sunrise Wind last week. Jon Lamson and Hugh Morley reported, respectively. New England Wind was among the projects procured jointly by Connecticut, Massachusetts and Rhode Island last week, which Jon also covered. 

Meanwhile, K Kaufmann wrote a thorough piece on EPA’s heavy-duty truck emission standards, which attempt to strike a balance between environmental and economic concerns. K also covered the DOE Loan Programs Office’s $1.52 billion loan to restart the Palisades nuclear plant in Michigan.
