An English woman tried to do the right thing, thinking she was rescuing an animal from danger, but in the end she looked mighty foolish for her efforts. 

A woman in Cheshire recently scooped up what she thought was an abandoned baby hedgehog alongside the road. She kept it in a box and offered it some cat food overnight before taking it to a local wildlife hospital. What a caring woman, right? She told the vets the hedgehog hadn’t moved all night and was worried it may have already died. However, after an examination, she was told her concerns were unnecessary as she had rescued a beanie bobble. Whoops. 

I imagine the situation was quite embarrassing, but it’s the thought that counts, right?
