If you live in the eastern half of the Unites States and do not like insects, well then, this summer is not going to be for you.
Two broods of periodical cicadas, ones that come out every 13 and 17 years, will emerge at the same time in a few weeks in numbers that will reach the hundreds of trillions — maybe even quadrillions. That’s 15 zeros. Brood XIX, which crawl out of the ground every 13 years, will invade the Southeast, while the 17-year Brood XIII will take over Illinois. Put them together and you have one of the biggest, if not the biggest, cicada swarms to ever annoy the Earth.
I am not sure if any will make their way to the Baltimore area, but if they do, this will be probably my new outfit of choice for the summer.
Now, this RTO Insider energy news is crawling out of this email.
