EPA last week issued its annual inventory of U.S. greenhouse gas emissions as of 2022, showing a 16.7% decrease since 2005, well below President Biden’s target of 50 to 52% by 2030, and emissions rose slightly in 2022 compared to 2021. K Kaufmann reported on that, while this week John Cropley covered the agency’s rejection of an industry petition to exempt stationary combustion turbines from hazardous air pollutant regulations, and the Global Wind Energy Council’s annual report on wind turbine installation rates. 

John was pretty busy last week too, as he attended the three-day New York Energy Summit in Albany, where he heard optimism by state officials about meeting emissions targets tempered by tales of generation developers’ challenges.
