Another Masters Tournament for Tiger Woods; another all-time record for the books.
Competing in his 26th Masters this past weekend (Where did the time go?), Tiger set a new tournament record for most consecutive cuts made with 24. While it wasn’t necessarily good enough to have him in serious contention heading into the weekend, Woods’ 73-72 (+1) scorecard through two days was good enough to move him ahead of Gary Player and Fred Couples for the cut record. Just another thing to add to his already insanely long list of achievements.
It is quite the feat, considering Golf Digest recently ranked Augusta National as one of the most challenging courses of all-time — not to mention that it usually carries the most attention and pressure of any major tournament. And considering Adam Scott is the next closest active player with 15 consecutive cuts made, I’d say Tiger’s record should be safe for a while.
