The best of the best begin their trip to the NBA Finals. | Guinness World Records

The NBA Playoffs begin this weekend (the play-in games don’t count for me), and with me being a basketball guy, I take it as a sign to make some predictions.

In my opinion, each conference has an overwhelming favorite in the Denver Nuggets (West) and the Boston Celtics (East). Vegas agrees as well. And in the end, those are the two teams I would pick to meet in the Finals. Who would win? It would be a tossup, but I’d lean toward the Celtics because they seem like they’re on a mission and have lost tough series each of the last two years. 

Could anyone upset either of these teams? If the playoffs were a one-game scenario, I’d say sure. In a seven-game series, though, it will be extremely tough barring a major injury to Nikola Jokić or Jayson Tatum. But if I had to pick a team from each conference to watch out for, I’d take the Dallas Mavericks and the Milwaukee Bucks (if Giannis Antetokounmpo is healthy).
