Punxsutawney Phil’s children finally have names. As one would expect, they fall in line with their father’s famous gig.
It was announced in late March that Phil and Phyllis became the proud parents of two pups. This past weekend, the groundhogs’ handlers said the babies have officially been named, fittingly, Sunny and Shadow. Sunny, the female, and Shadow, the male, were discovered when someone went to feed Phil and Phyllis in their climate-controlled burrow at a local library. Surprise! It’s twins!
While their father is undoubtedly famous in the U.S., the children will not be groomed as replacements for down the road. Good for them. We all know the job of a meteorologist is a thankless (and partially incorrect) craft.
