Happy Friday from ERO Insider! And for our readers in the United States, we hope you’re ready for the Memorial Day holiday. We’ve been hard at work as usual searching out the week’s top stories from the dynamic world of electric reliability, so let’s have a look:
FERC’s open meeting this week saw the commission approve a new cybersecurity standard from NERC, as well as the ERO’s plan for checking on the success of winterization efforts. Join Holden Mann inside for a closer look at its decision. (See FERC Accepts NERC’s New Cybersecurity Standard.)
NERC executives also spoke out this week on the progress of the ERO’s inverter-based resource registration initiative. Follow the link for an update on the proposed changes to the organization’s Rules of Procedure. (See NERC Says IBR Work Proceeding as Planned.)
And Tom Kleckner brings us home with a report from the Texas Reliability Entity’s Board of Directors meeting last week, where staff reviewed the improvements to the Texas grid that helped in recent winter storms. We’ve got more from the meeting after the jump. (See Texas RE: Resources’ Weatherization a Success.)
That’s all for now, but we’ll be back after the holiday with more of the coverage you crave from the ERO Enterprise and beyond! Until then, have a safe and fun weekend!
