The NBA Conference Finals are set, and like most of my predictions, I was half right.

I initially picked the Boston Celtics over the Denver Nuggets, but after the Minnesota Timberwolves mounted a 20-point second-half comeback in Game 7 on Sunday, the Nuggets are no longer contenders. It marks the sixth consecutive season the defending champs have not made it past the second round the following year. Meanwhile, in the East, the Celtics moonwalked into the conference finals and are now the overwhelming favorites to hoist the Larry O’Brien trophy. It might not hurt to throw $10 on the Indiana Pacers, though. 

No disrespect to the Pacers, but the Celtics are the easy pick in the East. They will win in six or fewer games. The T’Wolves-Dallas Mavericks series could go either way, but for the sake of making a pick, I’ll roll with Minnesota ... I guess.
