If you are reading this and you live in Manhattan, I hope you have nothing to do around 8 p.m. tonight. And that it’s not cloudy.
One of two yearly “Manhattanhenge” sightings will take place tonight around 8:12 p.m. ET. The phenomenon, termed by astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson (love this guy), is when the sunset coincidentally lines up with the Manhattan street grid and looks as if it is perfectly hovering between the rows of buildings. If you can’t make it to 14th, 23rd, 34th, 42nd or 57th streets for the view, mark your calendar for July 13, as that will be your last chance to see it until next year.
