The timing of the lights will be up to you. | Dawn McKenna Group

May 30, 2024

Now anyone can get into Kevin McAllister’s house, and they won’t have to run through a gauntlet of traps to do so.

The infamous residence on 671 Lincoln Ave. in Winnetka, Ill., is up for sale for $5.25 million. The five-bedroom, six-bath Georgian-style property was built in 1921 and was the battleground in the movie “Home Alone.” It was renovated in 2018 and expanded to more than 9,000 feet. That’s a lot of room for activities, and that’s not even including the indoor basketball court.

The only issue I am seeing is there is no reference to the zipline and tree house. Regardless of how big a house is, having your own place to escape to is paramount, in my opinion. That could end up being a dealbreaker for me. That, and dealing with lake-effect weather in the winter.

Now, see what news RTO Insider listed in today’s email:

  • States participating in the Federal-State Modern Grid Deployment Initiative have committed to supporting the adoption of advanced grid solutions that expand capacity and add capabilities to existing and new transmission and distribution lines. James Downing reports.

  • NYPA has expanded its AGILe Lab with extensive new digital twin capabilities, allowing it to model and test the impact of new technologies on the grid. John Cropley was in Albany for the ribbon-cutting ceremony and toured the new facility.

  • Stakeholders scolded NYISO for using the wrong figure in a press release on its summer capacity assessment, saying it suggested capacity margins would be tighter this summer than actually expected. Michael Brooks followed along with the dialogue.

Lastly, we have news from other sources:

  • “Big Oil and the Chamber plan to defend Biden’s climate law from Trump,” POLITICO

  • “Republican AGs ask Supreme Court to block climate change lawsuits brought by several states,” The Associated Press

  • “Wind, solar farm law won’t make November ballot in Michigan,” Bridge Michigan
