Here are some of the stories RTO Insider plans on having for you next week:


Jon Lamson will report on the ISO-NE Planning Advisory Committee, as well as check out the two-day Reuters Offshore Wind USA 2024 conference. 


Vincent Gabrielle will attend the NYISO Spring Economic Conference, where stakeholders will be briefed on the national and state economic outlooks on load growth and emissions. 


Devin Leith-Yessian will follow along with the PJM Interconnection Process Subcommittee, which will feature discussions of proposals to transfer capacity interconnection rights from deactivating generators to new planned resources. 


Amanda Durish Cook will be on top of the Organization of MISO States and MISO, who will share the results of their annual resource adequacy survey, which estimates potential capacity shortfalls in the region five years into the future. 


Tom Kleckner will be in Austin, Texas, on Monday and Tuesday to report on the ERCOT Board of Directors and its committees. They will consider voltage ride-through requirements for IBRs recently endorsed by stakeholders and manual deployment triggers for the contingency reserve service. 


Ayla Burnett will have a story on the CAISO 2023-2024 Transmission Planning Process, as staff discuss the process to identify potential system limitations as well as opportunities for system reinforcements that improve reliability and efficiency. Meanwhile, the Resource Adequacy Modeling and Design Working Group will explore changes to the ISO’s resource adequacy rules, requirements and processes to ensure the future reliability and operability of the grid. Lastly, the Western Energy Imbalance Market Regional Issues Forum and Governing Body will meet to discuss issues related to the market. 


Holden Mann will check in with the NERC Inverter-based Resources Performance Subcommittee as members discuss the reliability impacts of inverter-based resources such as wind, solar and battery storage facilities.
