Here are some of the stories RTO Insider plans on having for you next week:

Jon Lamson will report on the three-day NEPOOL Participants Committee summer meeting, which will feature reports from ISO-NE officers and the External Market Monitor.

Devin Leith-Yessian will have a plethora of news out of PJM, including from the MIC as it holds a pair of special sessions to discuss proposals to revise the RTO’s approach to measuring and verifying the capacity offered by energy efficiency resources. The second session will focus on a proposal to update parameters used to calculate the cost of new entry for the 2027/28 BRA. Elsewhere, the Risk Management Committee will consider an issue charge from LS Power to revise the credit requirements for varying FTR market participants, while the MRC is slated to consider a set of manual revisions to codify the risk modeling and accreditation paradigms drafted through the CIFP process last year and accepted by FERC in January.

Amanda Durish Cook will be on top of MISO’s quarterly Board Week, this time in Eagan, Minn. Attendees should expect a spring operations review, transmission planning updates, and discussions on load growth and the EPA’s carbon rule.

Tom Kleckner will dish on the ERCOT Technical Advisory Committee, as stakeholders begin their discussion of the 2025 ancillary service methodology. The Infocast Transmission and Interconnection Summit will also take place from June 25-27 in Arlington, Va., and will feature discussions on FERC’s recently released draft orders that would revise transmission planning, cost allocation and permitting processes.

Ayla Burnett will have a story on the CAISO Market Performance and Planning Forum. The quarterly forum will engage stakeholders with a review of market performance issues and high-level dialogue on release planning, implementation and new market enhancements. Meanwhile, the California Energy Commission will provide information on program updates and new activities related to workforce training and development for zero-emission vehicles and infrastructure.

K Kaufmann will gather all the details from BloombergNEF’s 2024 Electric Vehicle Outlook, as well as Amazon Web Services’ AI-oriented summit in D.C.

Holden Mann will tune into a webinar entitled: “Talk with Texas RE Policy Forum: EPA Power Sector Regulations.” Representatives from the EPA will discuss the potential reliability impacts of the agency’s regulations on power sector carbon emissions.

The RTO Insider team will also report on FERC’s open meeting, which will be Commissioner Allison Clements’ last one as a member.
