K Kaufmann was in D.C. last week for the Clean Energy Transition Conference, held by Tech for Climate Action. Jigar Shah, director of the Department of Energy’s Loan Programs Office, was there to urge utilities “to act like private-sector companies and actually take risk” to meet the spike in power demand from data centers.

Jon Lamson was in Boston for Raab Associates’ New England Electricity Restructuring Roundtable, which heard from community leaders who urged early and meaningful engagement to expedite energy permitting and siting. 

And Ayla Burnett covered a meeting of the California Energy Commission to discuss its Clean Transportation Program Investment Plan, which promotes accelerated development and deployment of zero-emission vehicles.
