Amid the hustle and bustle of the July 4 weekend, I completely forgot about another annual event that goes hand-in-hand with summer: Shark Week.

Discovery’s Shark Week is already airing, having started on July 7 and running through July 13. While older shows will run throughout the day, all the new content will be on at night. National Geographic also recently began its own shark documentary series, called Sharkfest, which will run all month long. It is crazy to think that Shark Week has been running annually for 36 years, but our fascination with one of the ocean’s apex predators speaks for itself, as the series is broadcast in more than 72 countries. 

The shows are also perfect for leaving on the TV while you do other things throughout the day. In fact, I have it on right now as I write this email … which has now taken me about 45 minutes to do. So, it’s also good for breaking up work. Enjoy!
