EPA Administrator Michael Regan on Monday announced 25 projects had been selected to receive more than $4.3 billion in Climate Pollution Reduction Grant funds from the Inflation Reduction Act intended to help states and cities implement their emission-reduction plans.

At least one state needs some major help, according to an audit by its comptroller. New York’s Thomas DiNapoli found fault with the PSC and NYSERDA for not moving fast enough to perform its requirements under the Climate Leadership and Community Protection Act. 

And Massachusetts legislators are working to reconcile two versions of a climate omnibus bill before the current session ends at the end of the month. The bill is intended to improve permitting of energy infrastructure, but each house’s version also contains unique provisions.
