Last year, I wrote an email about what is thought to be the rarest lobster on the planet. And while there is no beating Bowie when it comes to the statistical odds of their occurrence, there is one in Colorado that comes relatively close.
A worker at a Red Lobster in Pueblo was recently unpacking the daily shipment of lobsters when he came across an orange individual. Having not seen one in his 12 years on the job, he decided to alert his mangers to the find. Jose Romero’s intuition was right, as the orange lobster is said to have a 1-in-30 million chance of occurring. The manager decided the lobster deserved a better fate than being someone’s dinner and pulled it aside.
The lobster, now named “Chrush”, has since found a new home at the Downtown Aquarium in Denver. Talk about being saved by the color of your shell.
