July 24, 2024
While top athletes from around the world are gathering in Paris this week for the 2024 Summer Olympics, a bunch of animals have been showing off their athletic skills at a ranch in Texas.
The Humane Society of the United States released a video in honor of the summer games showing animals “participating” in different events. The video shows lemurs jumping on their version of the parallel bars, a macaque doing the high dive (4.0), and two bears Greco-Roman wrestling, among others. While some clips are probably a stretch by coining them Olympic events, in this animal-loving case, I am willing to give it the benefit of the doubt.
As for us humans, Paris’ opening ceremony will begin at noon ET on July 26. The games will run through Aug. 11. Go Team USA!
