You’ve probably heard that two astronauts are essentially stuck on the International Space Station because of concerns with the Boeing Starliner that brought them up there. Can Boeing do anything right these days? Question for another day. 

The astronauts might not be able to return to Earth until next year. The Wall Street Journal reported on how they are spending their time up there: mostly doing experiments and exercising, with unmanned supply shuttles keeping them stocked with food. The article doesn’t mention Netflix, books or video games, without which I would go absolutely insane if I was stuck inside on Earth (like during COVID!), let alone in space. But apparently, at least for one of the astronauts, the ISS is “her happy place.” 

I’ve always thought it would be cool to go into space. But if I had to risk being stuck on a space station, then no thanks. Even staying two days at Disney’s Galactic Starcruiser hotel sounded like torture.
