Top of the morning from ERO Insider, home of the coverage you love from the world of electric reliability! We like to highlight obscure and unusual holidays from time to time, so imagine how pleased we were to discover today is International Blind Dog Day, which aims to raise awareness of the “amazing abilities” of blind and partially sighted dogs around the world. If you’re as interested as we were, click here to learn more about the holiday and what you can do to honor and help these furry friends.
On with our team’s coverage, which focuses on the monthly teleconference of NERC’s Standards Committee held this week. Holden Mann tuned in to catch the meeting, which saw attendees wrangle over the makeup of several standards drafting teams and weighing the need for experience team members against the need to bring new talent into the ERO Enterprise. (See SDT Recommendations Spark Debate at Standards Committee.)
The Standards Committee also heard an update on the technical conference that NERC’s Board of Trustees ordered last week to resolve the deadlock over a standards project facing an urgent deadline from FERC. Click to learn how ERO staff have had to “hit the ground running” to meet the board’s 45-day deadline. (See NERC Following ‘Very Ambitious Timeline’ for IBR Conference.)
Thanks again for joining us this week! Stay with us all next week for more updates from the ERO Enterprise and beyond, and we’ll be back in your inboxes on Friday with another exciting email. Stay safe, and hug any furry friends in your lives!
