Kids and their electronics these days! | Shutterstock

School has officially begun for most schools around the country, which means kids are back to class … and back to playing hooky.
Last week, the parents of a 9-year-old boy notified the Brooklyn police when they found out he never made it to school in the morning. CBS New York got its chopper involved in the search and shortly found a boy fitting the description sitting on top of a residential building playing on his iPad. The news report seemed to take the report very seriously, which I guess a “missing child” is. But we all know what was going on. Little buddy didn’t want to go to math class.
The only day I faked going to school was in high school, when I was suspended for throwing an orange in the cafeteria and didn’t want my parents to know. And much like this kid, I still got caught — not by a helicopter, but because of an instant message from a buddy while my dad was using the computer. Moral of the story: Go to school, kids. And don’t throw fruit in the lunchroom.
