Everyone hopes to have a great showing on their first day at a new job. Unfortunately, sometimes the pressure of the situation might be a little too much to handle, causing someone to metaphorically “poop” their pants.

That was the kind of day Lucy had last Friday. The 10-month-old labrador retriever, who had been preparing to replace her sister as the Clearwater Threshers’ bat dog, was finally thrust into action — and it didn’t go well. Lucy did pretty much everything but retrieve the bat. After a glance at it, she ran into the opposing team’s dugout to say hi to everyone, then jaunted around the infield a bit before stopping behind the pitcher’s mound and relieving herself. 

Lucy’s trainer understandably had a rough night of sleep, but after seeing the millions of views Lucy received, the team announced she will be keeping her job. Hey, nothing like setting the bar low! Keep working, pretty girl!
