Arcade claw machines: when “games of chance” give you no chance.
Rio de Janeiro has gotten behind that motto, as the Brazilian city recently cracked down on the machines that are classified as illegal. Police executed 16 search warrants last week and removed 80 other machines in May after finding they were rigged to only grab a toy after a certain number of attempts. Local criminal groups are suspected to be behind the machines. Despite needing to follow certain rules, claw machines in the U.S. are except from gambling laws and are free to rip people off at will. Hey Brazil, I know you don’t hear this often, but good job!
On a side note, do you know how I know “Toy Story” is fake? Because no one walks up and goes 2-for-2 on these machines, especially with the grasper holding tight and pulling back two toys at once.
