Here are some of the stories RTO Insider plans on having for you next week:

Jon Lamson will be in the room for the Northeast Energy and Commerce Association Fuels Conference and its discussion on the role of fossil and renewable fuels in the energy transition. Jon will also check in on the NEPOOL Transmission Committee.

Vincent Gabrielle will dish about the NYISO ICAP Working Group meeting, where the Market Monitor will present a State of the Market report and offer transmission security recommendations. Vincent will also follow along with the Management Committee, as well as a Special Operating Committee meeting.

Devin Leith-Yessian will have all the news out of PJM. The Markets and Reliability Committee will consider endorsing proposals to sunset the Electric Gas Coordination Senior Task Force and shift its focus to a new Electric Gas Coordination Subcommittee, while the Members Committee may vote on a proposal to add hourly notification times to the day-ahead market. Lastly, the Risk Management Committee will discuss changes to the minimum capitalization and financial transmission rights credit rules.

Amanda Durish Cook will gather the details from two MISO Long-range Transmission Plan workshops, which will take place on Sept. 24 and 25 to get stakeholders more comfortable with the $21 billion portfolio it hopes to advance to board approval by the end of the year.

Tom Kleckner will attend the Infocast Texas Clean Energy Summit in San Antonio. The summit will discuss the opportunities and challenges in the state’s renewables environment, where load growth has exceeded all expectations thanks to large energy users, post-IRA manufacturing and population growth. Elsewhere, the Texas PUC will again take up the Permian Basin Reliability Plan during its open meeting.

Ayla Burnett will report on CAISO’s 2024-2025 Transmission Planning Process, as the ISO works on identifying potential system limitations and opportunities for system reinforcements that improve reliability and efficiency. Also, the Western Energy Markets Governing Body will give an update, as well as receive a presentation, on bid cost recovery and take part in a discussion on key issues for Western utilities.

K Kaufmann will have a story on the National Clean Energy Week Policy Symposium. Citizens for Responsible Energy Solutions will hold its annual National Clean Energy Week in D.C. with speakers such as LPO Director Jigar Shah, SEIA CEO Abigail Ross Hopper and Pattern Energy CEO Hunter Armistead, along with Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp (R) and Rep. Bob Latta (R-Ohio).
