Here are some of the stories RTO Insider plans on having for you next week:

Vincent Gabrielle will dive into the NYISO ICAP Working Group on Tuesday and its discussion on valuing transmission security. Then on Wednesday, the Budget Priorities Working Group will go over the ISO’s annual consumer impact analysis, and on Friday the Transmission Planning Advisory Subcommittee will meet.

Devin Leith-Yessian will have a piece on the PJM Transmission Expansion Advisory Committee, which will convene a special session to discuss FERC Order 1920. Meanwhile, the RTO’s Deactivation Enhancements Senior Task Force will discuss five proposals to rework the notification period that generation owners must provide PJM before retiring units and how compensation for reliability-must-run contracts is determined.

Amanda Durish Cook will report on the MISO Interconnection Process Working Group as it tries to convince stakeholders that a 50% peak load annual cap is necessary to limit projects entering its generator interconnection queue.

Tom Kleckner will attend the Gulf Coast Power Conference’s annual Fall Conference. ERCOT CEO Pablo Vegas and Texas Rep. Todd Hunter are among the keynote speakers. A pre-conference workshop will discuss the ERCOT market changes that have been made and are planned. Elsewhere, there will be a Texas PUC hearing in Houston on Hurricane Beryl and CenterPoint Energy’s response.

Ayla Burnett will have a story on the CAISO Price Formation Enhancements Working Group, as ISO staff and stakeholders will review the discussion paper related to several different initiatives in the Price Formation Enhancements Working Group.

Holden Mann will follow along with the Electric Vehicle Task Force’s kickoff meeting, where participants will discuss the challenges posed by EVs to grid reliability and how the ERO can work with utilities and manufacturers of EVs and chargers to address them. Holden will also check in on a USEA virtual press briefing entitled, “The AI Revolution Underway in the Utility Space.” Experts will discuss the potential uses of artificial intelligence by electric utilities and the benefits the technology can bring to grid reliability.

The details on all the meetings above can be found on our calendar
