Happy Friday from ERO Insider, your source for the latest news from the world of electric reliability! We’re heading into the last weekend of September, and it sure does seem like the month’s flown by — and speaking of flying by, we hope our readers in the Southeast have prepared for any possible dangers from Hurricane Helene. As we write this on Thursday, the storm is projected to make landfall in Florida tonight and sweep up through Georgia and Tennessee over the next few days. Please stay safe out there!
Moving on to this week’s stories, the Department of Homeland Security is offering nearly $280 million to support state, local and territorial governments’ investments in cybersecurity for critical infrastructure. Holden Mann has more on the program and who’s eligible to apply. (See DHS Offers $280M in Grants for Cyber Investments.)
This week saw FERC issue the agenda for its upcoming Reliability Technical Conference, and attendees will have a full plate of issues to discuss. Follow the link to see what’s teed up for attendees from various players including NERC, RTOs and ISOs, and more. (See FERC Reliability Conference to Highlight Resource Adequacy.)
The Texas Reliability Entity’s Board of Directors joined three other regional entities in endorsing the ERO Enterprise’s long-term strategic plan last week. Tom Kleckner has more on the plan and other decisions from the board’s meeting last week. (See Texas RE Endorses ERO Enterprise Strategy.)
Thanks again for joining us this Friday! We’ll see you again next week with more stories from around the ERO Enterprise and beyond. Until then, stay safe and have a great week!
