A heroic deed caught live on camera! | FOX News
|
September 30, 2024
While most of the Southeastern United States is dealing with the effects of Hurricane Helene, it is nice to know there are some people out there willing to help those in distress.
FOX Weather meteorologist Bob Van Dillen is one of those people, as he abruptly stopped a live shot Friday night to help a woman stuck in a submerged car. Van Dillen was on the air when a woman became stuck on a flooded road and could be heard calling for him. The reporter tried to assure the woman that 911 was called, but it quickly became obvious there was no time for that. With that, Van Dillen excused himself from the live report, waded his way to the woman’s car and carried her back to safety.
Van Dillen humbly tried to play it off when interviewed, and perhaps he did what most of us would do in the situation, but that’s not saying everyone could or would. Hats off (and rain jackets on) to Van Dillen for being someone’s guardian angel for a night.
