It is kind of like Shark Week, except with this “week,” there are no TV shows and it is only focused on fat bears. That’s right. Fat Bear Week is back!
The Katmai National Park and Preserve in Alaska once again kicked off its annual competition, pitting 12 wanna-be Yogis in a “who got ready for winter the best” contest. I’d say all have a shot at the title, but the ones who received a bye definitely look like they deserved it. No. 128 Grazer was last year’s winner and seems to have put up a solid effort again this year. The bracket will run through Oct. 8.
I may be going with the favorite given his name and by looking at his picture, but my pick is No. 32 Chunk. The park inside information says he carries “substantial fat reserves” while “even at his leanest.” It looks like it. Also, except for maybe No. 903, Chunk is the only one who doesn’t look like he is trying to move and be active in his picture. Instead, he seems like he is cursing himself for eating that last pic-a-nic basket. We’ve all been there.
Now, these RTO Insider stories are beefed up on information.
