Word to the wise: if you’re trying to buy a specific lottery ticket and the machine wants to give you another one — just take it. That’s what an Illinois man did in late August and ended up winning $9.2 million.
The man was at a grocery store attempting to buy a specific lottery ticket when the machine got stuck on one game and would not dispense any other tickets. After minutes of trying, he just decided to take the ticket. He came back the next day to find he matched all six numbers for the $9.2 million jackpot. In a way, he indirectly accepted what the universe was trying to tell him.
