And just like that, we have reached Halloween. Or, as I like to call it now as an adult, the official start of the “Holiday Gauntlet.”
Over the next two months we will all: travel decent distances (possibly multiple times), see your kids get sick (possibly multiple times), curse at the sky because it seems like it is always dark (possibly multiple times), and stress over and shop for (definitely multiple times) everything we need to celebrate three of the year’s biggest holidays. Oh, and see family and embrace the ones we love. Hey, I’m not a full-on pessimist. Only when it comes to the Dallas Cowboys.
Everyone going out Trick-or-Treating tonight, please be safe. Everyone driving through communities, please be safer. And lastly, shout out to the kids in Des Moines, Iowa, who will be Trick-or-Treating on Halloween for the first time since 1938. Let’s not ruin it again, eh?
