Here are some of the stories RTO Insider plans on having for you next week:
Jon Lamson will report on the NEPOOL Markets Committee as it continues a discussion on ISO-NE’s Capacity Auction Reforms project. Also, the Northeast Energy and Commerce Association will host its Energy Innovation Forum to talk about clean energy innovation.
Vincent Gabrielle will have a piece on the NYISO Operating Committee, which will vote on the Con Ed Winter Loss of Gas Study and get an update from the New York State Reliability Council. The ISO’s BIC and ICAP Working Group will also hold meetings.
Devin Leith-Yessian will be on top of the PJM MRC and its special session to conduct a page turn on governing document revisions to implement a fast-track interconnection study process for new resources receiving CIRs being transferred from a deactivating unit. The PJM Reserve Certainty Senior Task Force will also meet to talk about its long-term goals of addressing the performance of reserve resources.
Amanda Durish Cook will relay the details from a MISO Winter Readiness Workshop that is set to publicize the RTO’s winter operating predictions.
Tom Kleckner will dive into the SPP Markets+ Participants Executive Committee, which will meet in Portland, Ore., to take up another batch of protocols as participants prepare for the market’s second phase.
Ayla Burnett will have a story on the CAISO Price Formation Enhancements Working Group, where staff and stakeholders will discuss a grouping approach for market power mitigation in the implementation of the Extended Day-Ahead Market. Ayla will also travel to Anaheim for NARUC’s Annual Meeting. The three-day conference convenes utility commissioners and energy industry experts from different sectors to discuss the biggest challenges facing the industry today, namely decarbonization, affordability and equity.
K Kaufmann will tune into a “Post-Election Outlook for Renewables and Other Parts of the Energy Transition” webinar hosted by Norton Rose Fulbright, where former FERC Chair Richard Glick and former Trump energy adviser Michael Catanzaro will speak. In other federal news, the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee will hold a hearing to vet Matthew Marzano, who is up to fill the empty seat on the Nuclear Regulatory Commission.
Holden Mann will follow along with the NERC Standards Committee as it receives updates on several ongoing standards development projects. Elsewhere, NERC’s Cold Weather Project Technical Conference will discuss the progress of the standard drafting team revising the ERO’s cold weather standards.
