If there is any place that could use nice, fluffy animals to lessen the anxiety in the atmosphere, it is the airport.
The Portland International Airport must have the same thought, as it has introduced Beni the llama and Captain Jack the alpaca to its animal therapy program. The animals visit every few weeks and allow travelers to take a few minutes from the hustle and bustle of the terminals to enjoy a meet-and-greet with camelids they might not otherwise ever get the chance to see. Not to mention, there is nothing quite as relaxing as a “carrot kiss.”
I’m sure the animals will be very helpful this upcoming holiday season when walking through an airport becomes a form of public torture. No matter how chaotic things can get, there is always time to pet.
