Here are some of the stories RTO Insider plans on having for you next week:

Jon Lamson will follow the NEPOOL Markets Committee meeting and its continued work on ISO-NE’s Capacity Auction Reforms project.

Vincent Gabrielle will have a story on the NYISO Business Issues Committee as it considers modeling improvements for capacity accreditation and a dynamic reserves market design. He’ll also cover the Operating Committee, which will vote on the study scopes for 28 public policy transmission projects.

Devin Leith-Yessian will have a piece on the PJM Members Committee and its special session to discuss a proposal to file governing document revisions to expand the requirement that resources offer into the capacity market and related changes to the market seller offer cap. Also, the Load Analysis Subcommittee is set to receive a preliminary 2025 load forecast.

Amanda Durish Cook will be on top of MISO’s quarterly Board of Directors meeting week, as the board votes on whether to approve the RTO’s $21.8 billion long-range transmission plan. Otherwise, expect a fall operations wrap-up, an update on the RTO’s budget and an Advisory Committee discussion on what lies ahead in 2025.

Tom Kleckner will report on the SPP Board of Directors, which will hold a virtual meeting to take up NTCs for the three projects in the Joint Targeted Interconnection Queue transmission portfolio with MISO that are in the RTO’s footprint. It will also vote on the need dates for two projects held out of the 2024 ITP assessment.

Ayla Burnett will dive into the CAISO Storage Design and Modeling Initiative, as staff and stakeholders continue to refine bid cost recovery provisions and the default energy bid. Elsewhere, the ISO Department of Market Monitoring will discuss planning and performance issues and successes for the fourth quarter.

Elaine Goodman will cover a “technical session” at WECC’s quarterly meeting, which will deal with NERC’s Interregional Transfer Capability Study and how it complements other transmission planning efforts in the West.

K Kaufmann will cover the USEA Advanced Energy Technology Showcase, which will spotlight emerging energy technologies from research labs to real-world applications.
