Happy Friday from ERO Insider, where we’re dedicated to bringing you the latest news from the world of electric reliability! The temperatures may be dropping outside, but there’s still plenty of work going on to keep the power grid running smoothly. So let’s join our correspondents to see what’s been going on this week!
With the holidays fast approaching, the authorities on electric reliability have been working to squeeze in their meetings before the break begins. Holden Mann was on hand when NERC’s Board of Trustees gathered this week, and he’s got a look at the new reliability standards they approved, along with a revised meeting schedule intended to give trustees more face time with the industry. (See NERC Board of Trustees Briefs: Dec. 10, 2024.)
Next up is NERC’s Standards Committee, which met this week to say goodbye to several departing colleagues and arrange its business for the coming year. Click the link to learn about the new faces and the standard authorization request that members approved this week. (See NERC Standards Committee Preparing to Welcome New Members.)
The Reliability and Security Technical Committee has some new members joining as well, whom Chair Rich Hydzik welcomed at this week’s meeting. We’ve got more on them, along with current members’ concerns about a proposed reference document, after the jump. (See NERC's RSTC Welcomes New Members for 2025.)
Thanks for joining us! We’ll be following the latest developments in the ERO Enterprise and beyond next week, so keep checking the website for updates, and we’ll be back again on Friday with another exciting email. Bye for now!
