The Department of Energy released a study yesterday that Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm said showed increasing exports of LNG would create economic risks for the U.S. and cause environmental damage.
The department this week also slashed the list of 10 potential National Interest Electric Transmission Corridors to just three much narrower corridors in the third phase of its designation process.
And oil giant ExxonMobil said that it plans to build a large behind-the-meter generator that would burn natural gas the company produces and then sequester most of the resulting CO2 emissions in permanent underground storage.
