Here are some of the stories RTO Insider plans on having for you next week:
Jon Lamson will report on the NEPOOL Reliability Committee and its discussions on transmission cost allocations, New England Clean Energy Connect implementation, and Order 881 conforming changes. Jon will also check in on the ISO-NE Planning Advisory Committee.
Vincent Gabrielle will have a story on the NYISO Transmission Planning Advisory Subcommittee meeting, as the ISO discusses its preliminary proposal for complying with FERC Order 1920 and the implementation of transmission owners’ right of first refusal over transmission upgrades. The ISO will also kick off its capacity market structure review at the ICAP Working Group’s meeting.
Devin Leith-Yessian will dish on the PJM Markets and Reliability Committee, which is set to vote on a proposal to revise interconnection site control requirements. Renewable developers have argued that both the status quo and revisions require them to hold onto land that will not be needed to complete their projects.
Robert Mullin will cover a California Energy Commission workshop that will discuss the potential impacts of the West-Wide Governance Pathways Initiative on that state. The meeting will include representatives from “key stakeholder groups,” including regulators, electricity market participants, labor and environmental advocates.
Holden Mann will detail the NERC Reliability and Security Technical Committee’s Annual Work Plan Summit, where members will review the committee’s business and how it supports its work plan and NERC’s 2025 priorities. Meanwhile, a webinar on SERC’s 2024-2026 Regional Risk Report will discuss ongoing and developing challenges to reliability and security within the RE’s footprint.
K Kaufmann will check out the United States Energy Association State of the Energy Industry Forum. The program reflects a mix of fossil fuel and clean energy speakers on a series of panels, along with folks like former FERC Commissioner Tony Clark and EPRI CEO Arshad Mansoor.
The details on all the meetings above can be found on our calendar.
The RTO Insider team will also have a bunch of other news, so be sure to check out the website and our daily emails throughout the week!
