And just like that, there are only three games left in the NFL season, as the AFC and NFC Championships will be played this weekend.
One of the laughing stocks of the league a year ago, today the Washington Commanders find themselves one win away from their first Super Bowl appearance since 1991. They will face a divisional rival in the Philadelphia Eagles, who are looking to get back to the big game and avenge their loss to Kansas City two years ago. The Eagles are 6-point favorites, but at this point I can’t see how you can discount the Commanders' chances, who are being led by a rookie quarterback, of continuing their Cinderella run. It’s going to be a long three hours for Michael Brooks, that’s for sure. To help him out, I’ll pick the Eagles.
When I was growing up, the running joke was that “Bills” stood for “Boy, I love losing Super Bowls.” Not much has changed since then, other than the fact they have lost earlier in the postseason. Meanwhile, their opponent — the Kansas City Chiefs (-2) — are vying to become the first three-peat winner in NFL history. Fun fact: No quarterback in the history of the NFL has won four playoff games against another quarterback. I’m looking at you, Josh Allen. As a staunch believer in the law of averages, I have to think this is finally the Bills’ time.
