Happy Friday from ERO Insider, and a hearty 恭喜发财! This week is Lunar New Year, a time for appreciating family and friendship. Although it began with East Asian cultures, there’s no reason the rest of the world can’t enjoy it too! So let’s celebrate the new year with a look at our stories for this week.
In a webinar this week, staff at the Texas Reliability Entity discussed NERC’s recent Interregional Transfer Capability Study and its recommendations for the Lone Star State. Join Holden Mann inside for more on the briefing from Chief Engineer Mark Henry, who warned that there’s still a lot of work left to follow up on the study. (See Texas RE Calls ITCS Recommendations ‘Very High Level’.)
This week also saw FERC approve a $150,000 penalty for violations of reliability standards by wind and solar generators across multiple regions. Click through for a look at the settlement agreement and details on the extent of the infringements. (See FERC Upholds $150K Penalty for Facility Misratings.)
That’s going to do it for today. This week was a bit of a lull in activities in the ERO Enterprise, but we’re hoping for more activity next week with the meeting of NERC’s System Planning Impacts from Distributed Energy Resources Working Group. Keep checking back through the week for the latest updates, and we’ll see you on Friday with another email. Have a happy and prosperous Year of the Snake!
