NetZero Insider covered two major conferences last week in D.C., where stakeholders and state regulators discussed the Trump administration’s policies and how to best meet increasing electricity demand.
James Downing was at the NARUC Winter Policy Summit, where utilities told regulators that the grid still needs to expand to meet new demand and become more resilient to extreme weather, even though federal clean energy policies have changed. And of course, demand growth coupled with an ongoing change in supply was a major theme of the
conference.
Meanwhile, K Kaufmann was at ACORE’s Policy Forum, which featured a discussion between ACORE CEO Ray Long, former EPA Administrator Andrew Wheeler and former Energy Secretary Ernest Moniz on the U.S.’ interconnection queues. There was also a very interesting panel discussion on the nuances of the Supreme Court’s Loper Bright decision.
