The uncertainty around federal funding, permitting approvals and tariffs on trade is creating major challenges for clean energy development in the U.S.


That includes the Northeast, where NECA held its annual Renewable Energy Conference last week, with panelists speaking about those challenges. 


Meanwhile in Washington, members of the House Energy and Commerce Subcommittee on Energy pointed fingers at each other for hindering the U.S.’ ability to meet increasing demand. 


There may be some bipartisan agreement on geothermal energy, however, according to speakers at Geothermal House, which included Energy Secretary Chris Wright. 


And commercial fishing advocates are asking the U.S. Supreme Court to rule that federal regulators improperly authorized construction of the 800-MW Vineyard Wind 1 off the Massachusetts coast.
